  • 1 cup yogurt (or buttermilk)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chicken seasoning
  • 180g flour
  • 60g cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Preparation Steps:
    Marinate the Chicken: Mix yogurt, spices, and seasonings. Coat the chicken and refrigerate for at least an hour (overnight for best results).
    Prepare the Coating: Combine flour, cornstarch, and spices in a shallow dish.
    Coat the Chicken: Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture, pressing it to adhere. Double-coat for extra crunch.
    Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
    Fry the Chicken: Fry in batches for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
    Rest and Drain: Place on a wire rack to drain excess oil and rest before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat the chicken and avoid overcrowding the pan while frying to ensure a perfectly crispy texture. You can also bake the chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes for a healthier alternative.
