Ingredients
  

  • 250g Kunafa dough
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 200g mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 100g ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup crushed pistachios
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp rosewater or orange blossom water (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preparation Steps:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).In a saucepan, heat sugar, water, and lemon juice until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 10 minutes, then add rosewater and set aside.
    Toss Kunafa dough with melted butter.
    Grease a baking dish and layer half of the buttered dough.
    Add a mix of mozzarella, ricotta, and crushed pistachios.
    Top with the remaining dough.Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.
    Drizzle cooled syrup over the Kunafa. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Feel free to switch up the cheese with goat cheese or adjust the nuts according to your preference. Kunafa is best served warm or at room temperature.
